3 things to know about Hilo installations

Hilo offers turnkey installation of its thermostats. That means we’ve thought through everything you’ll need to make the most of your new smart home—and start enjoying it as soon as possible! So how does it work? Here’s what you need to know about Hilo’s installation process.

1: It’s flexible

When finalizing your online order, you get to select the date of your installation.  

  • Be sure to download the Hilo mobile app before your electrician arrives. You’ll already be able to create an account, name your house, and set up your rooms.  
  • You’ll receive an email reminder five days before your chosen installation date. 
  • A temporary charge will be made to your credit card until Hilo can confirm the amount to be debited. The invoice will only be sent to you after installation.

2: We’re there every step of the way 

Installation day…

Installation of Hilo’s home heating solution typically takes between two and five hours depending on the number of devices you need installed. 

  • First, your Hilo-appointed electrician will set up your household’s hub and help you decide on the best placement for all your devices. The goal? Avoid interference to further optimize the energy efficiency of your smart home. 
  • Then, the power will be switched off and your thermostats—as well as any smart switches and dimmers you may have ordered—will be installed. 
  • Once the power is restored, our representative will check to make sure your new devices are all working properly. And that’s it! 

Note: You can connect your electric vehicle charger to Hilo without the help of an electrician. 

3: We explore the possibilities with you

Now that your smart home is all set up, the possibilities are almost endless… In addition to helping you configure the mobile application, our rep will take you on a tour of the app’s different features, explaining how you can maximize your comfort or achieve a particular mood at different times throughout the day with pre-programmed scenes, heating settings, and much more. And because we’re always striving to do better, you’ll also receive a satisfaction survey after installation.
